A night in a portaledge 80 m above the Tarn for my partner's 30th birthday — a memory etched for life. Florian handles all the logistics and safety with impressive calm and experience. A truly extraordinary experience, accessible even without a high level.
My first real climbing session after a few sessions at the gym. Florian helped me progress in the Gorges de la Jonte with patience and precision. His knowledge of the terrain and his focus on safety really make you want to come back. A guide worth his weight in gold.
Hiking and abseiling at Verrières with our teenagers: abseils of up to 30 m, an unspoilt canyon atmosphere, and a guide who knows how to set the pace and ease the little fears. My two teens are already asking to go again. Well done Florian!
A multi-pitch route in the Gorges de la Jonte with Florian. Perfect commitment, impeccable rock, and a guide who bolts the sector himself — he knows every belay by heart. The independent climber finds a bottomless playground here. Highly recommended.
Florian Vizier
State-Certified Climbing Instructor — Adventure-Terrain specialist
I discovered climbing as a child with my father in the Gorges de la Truyère. The passion came naturally — so much so that I made it my career, earning my State diploma as a climbing instructor with a specialism in Adventure (Trad) Terrain.
After travelling the world combining trips and climbing, I settled with my family in the Gorges du Tarn. Today I split my year between guiding on the cliffs and re-bolting multi-pitch routes in the Jonte. My promise: to be reassuring, professional and friendly — and to maintain a constant safety framework, from complete beginners to seasoned climbers.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before booking your session.
confidence is already half the adventure.”
What outdoor activities do you offer?
Four vertical disciplines, all led by Florian (State-certified instructor): Via Ferrata (3 sites in Aveyron / Lozère), Rock Climbing (beginner, improver and multi-pitch), Hiking & Abseiling (Causses canyons — 2 sites) and our signature Night on the Wall above the Gorges du Tarn (which can be combined with the via ferrata).
Which activities are family-friendly?
For families with children, we recommend:
• Hiking & Abseiling at Verrières — from age 5, an unspoilt canyon setting with kid-friendly drops.
• Boffi Via Ferrata — the family yellow route from age 8, with a panorama over Millau.
• Beginner climbing at La Muse — a teaching crag from age 6–7.
The Night on the Wall remains reserved for ages 12 and over.
Do I need previous experience?
Not at all. Most participants discover the activity with Florian. Every outing is tailored to your level and your wishes, from complete beginner to seasoned climber.
For multi-pitch routes and the Adventure Terrain (Caroux), we ask for a climbing base of around grade 5c lead as a minimum.
Is equipment provided?
Yes, in full: helmet, harness, lanyards, fall-arrest system, carabiners and rope. All gear is maintained, PPE-inspected and compliant with current standards.
You just bring: closed sports shoes or hiking boots, weather-appropriate clothing, a water bottle and a snack. For climbing, climbing shoes can be lent depending on availability.
What happens in bad weather?
Light rain or wind aren't a problem. In the event of a storm, however, the outing is cancelled and rescheduled free of charge where possible.
How do I book a session?
The easiest way: WhatsApp or a call to +33 6 43 58 31 27 — Florian answers directly. You can also use the contact form or send an email to contact@escal-adventure.fr.
